The PTA Committee is made up of parent/guardians representing each year group, with Head Teacher, Mrs Weston, as President.
Every year at the Annual General Meeting, the Committee Members are given the opportunity to continue in their given capacity, or indeed, to step down if they so wish. New members are then elected through a democratic vote.
Please, please remember – you do not have to be a PTA Committee Member to help out or to give your thoughts and ideas – feel free to approach a Committee Member that represents your child’s year group if there are any issues/ideas that you’d like the Committee to discuss at the meetings – held the first Wednesday of each month.
The PTA has a Constitution to which it must adhere in order to run efficiently and effectively – this is in place so that all funds raised are looked after economically, ensuring each and every child at Guestling-Bradshaw CEP School benefits from the generosity of all those who attend the fundraising events. Indeed, the Committee is also in place to maximise fundraising potential to help provide a wonderful addition to the children’s educational experience.
Over the school year, the PTA Committee organises three ‘main’ events – Christmas, Easter and Summer Fayres. Main events aside, there are many more smaller fundraising efforts, including "Bags 2 School", Children’s Calendars and a Quiz Night, to mention but a few. The PTA aims to produce a regular newsletter to keep everyone updated with details of all the events, plus how the funds are spent in order to maximise the benefit to the children. The most recent newsletter will be posted on this website. Please e-mail chez.poole@tiscali.co.uk with the words “subscribe to newsletter” if you wish to receive an alert once the latest information is available to view on-line.
Please do take the time to look through the PTA pages – we’re sure you’ll agree the children’s time at Guestling-Bradshaw is enhanced through the voluntary work of the PTA.
