School Council Minutes

  1. The chair opened the meeting and welcomed the year 4 children

     

  2. Christian aid ideas were discussed. Most of the classes have decided what they will do and the teachers will let school council know the dates for that these will happen.

                                     Yr 3 Seeds to grow to sell vegetables

 

                                     Yr 4 Bring in and sell toys

 

                                     Yr 6 Face painting

 

 

 

Mr Taylor asked the school council to let governors know when these events are taking place.

 

                                   

 

 

  1. There was a discussion about a pet day and Mrs Weston is still thinking about it and ideas of how we can do this safely. She will talk to staff

     

 

  1. It was decided to discuss some of the items on the list from Children’s Gathering and then bring the some to the next meeting.   Growing   vegetables on the field was discussed.  The school council will write to Pett Gardening Group to see if they are come regularly to help us and teach the children. 

     

 

  1. Election of school council members was discussed and this will happen straight away.

     

 

  1. The minutes need to be put on the website as soon as possible.

     

 

  1. Play leaders. Mrs Weston will discuss this with year 5 children

     

 

  1. Mr Taylor gave the council the date of Pett Church Christian Aid Service [Sunday 18th May at 9.30am] and asked the school council to invite children and their parents to come and take part.  Mrs Taylor is also having a Coffee Morning on 10th May in aid of Christian Aid too, at “Paxstead”, Pett Road [10am until 12noon].  If any of the classes wished to sell their ‘goods’ at the Coffee Morning they would be welcome to do so.

     

 

  1. Mrs Weston asked members after the meeting to think about how we could promote the use of the Positive Post Box and also if council would write a thank you note to Mr Prestidge for making this.
