These are new trees, planted to replace old trees that have died. The plastic tubes protect them. We played a game which helped us learn some of the reasons why newly planted trees might not survive.
Then we played a game where we were blindfolded, so had to use our other senses, like touch and smell to identify the tree our partner had led us to.
Go on – give your tree a hug!
What do you think might live here? We found some evidence to tell us it might be rabbits!

One last look at the pond before heading back to school. Thank you to the ladies from the Woodland Trust for a lovely afternoon.
